The Justice Reinvestment Initiative Grant provides funding to state and local public safety or justice system programs to address inefficiencies and target urgent challenges to reduce crime. Funding addresses critical system challenges relating to law enforcement, prosecution, sentencing, jails and prisons, probation and parole with the intent of increasing prevention and interdiction of contraband in correctional facilities, and using advanced technology to increase facility efficiency.
