The National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP) builds an accurate and accessible system of criminal history records, strengthens the nation's capabilities to identify felons who attempt to purchase firearms, strengthens the nation's capabilities of identifying persons other than felons who are ineligible to purchase firearms, and advances the efforts of protecting from abuse the children, the elderly, and the disabled.
The NCHIP grant program is not an open solicitation grant. Applicants are invited to apply at the discretion of the West Virginia Division of Justice and Community Services.
