Prison Rape Elimination Act Reallocation (PREA)

​Justice and Community Services is designated the State Administrative Agency (SAA) for the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).  This funding is awarded annually to the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) in order to obtain and maintain compliance.  WV DCR is committed to establishing and maintaining a zero-tolerance culture for sexual abuse and harassment​ in the corrections system.  DCR is dedicated to promoting inmate safety and supporting the needs of sexual abuse victims in its facilities.
